30 minutes
Aims
To help us to:
- Introduce Fellows to the framing of this module, making linkages with the previous module
- Introduce the programme for the week
- Remind Fellows of the key foundational learning approach of the Fellowship
- Begin discussing the political economy of land.
Task
Pairs & Plenary: The rationale and design of Module 3
30 minutes
This a short plenary session to refresh our memories of the Framing Document, that Fellows received ahead of the module for advance reading. We will also look at the programme day plans for the week, so that we confirm our planned journey for the week.
In pairs, we will begin with a short 10-minute buzz. Scan the Framing Document and the Programme day plans:
- What do you understand to be reasoning or rationale behind the design of this module and where it is placed in the fellowship?
- What specific sessions are being picked up and expanded on, from Module 1 and 2?
- What particular aspects of Module 3 are you looking forward to?
In plenary, the lead facilitator will engage reflections and will offer an interactive presentation that highlights the key elements of this Module, the week’s planned journey, and where we are in the fellowship journey.
We have land dispossession experts with us for today, and they will be introduced before we get into the substance of today, on the political economy of land.
